After an oil claim by an oil and natural gas agency, Bengal sets to find a place on the oil map of the world. It was discovered in the year 2018 by an oil and natural gas agency, confirming about commercial visibility of oil and gas by Union steel, petroleum, and natural gas minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
This discovery was made in the region of Ashoknagar North 24 Parganas, just 47 km from Kolkata.
