A violent Islamic mob has set fire to a Hindu temple and demolished most part of the temple area in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.
Thousands of crowds mostly led by Islamic clerics, entered the Hindu temple in the village of Teri, in Karak district, on Wednesday and began smashing temple walls to bring it down and set it on fire.
When the incident happened no one was inside the temple. Crowds were seen chanting slogans and cheers greeting the destruction.
This is the second time it has been demolished after the 1997 incident when it has been destroyed by a group of Muslim fanatics. The temple had been recently undergone refurbishment after an order from the supreme court of Pakistan. The shrine was first erected in the year 1919.
After the incident police and guards had been stationed outside the temple.
It's still not clear how people gathered in such numbers and police did not have any information regarding this.
