ASEAN Countries like Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines have sealed deal for procuring Covid-19 vaccine from UK and US.
This is a major setback for Chinese diplomacy in the region.
All other ASEAN countries like Myanmar, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Brunei, Cambodia may soon sign a similar deal with the UK and US.
China deliberately did not give the Genetic material of Coronavirus to another country to make vaccines, as it was the first country to get infected and China itself was the cause of the Global pandemic situation.
Taking advantage of existing Genetic material it got a good start for developing vaccines at the very initial stage. China then started to offer the vaccine to all ASEAN nation with a clause of supporting china at WHO, which had hidden the coronavirus effect from the world did not ring the bell about the deadly virus.
The reflection of the Chinese act was seen in a visit to Chinese senior leader Premier Li Keqiang to the ASEAN region and told all the countries that China will give it vaccine as a "priority" vaccine to ASEAN nations provided they have to support China in WHO.
Philippines and Thailand have signed for millions of doses of the covid-19 vaccines developed by Oxford University and Astra Zeneca.
Thai government as ordered 26 million doses and the Philippines has ordered 2.6 million shots from the UK government.
UK government has already announced 100 million doses of vaccines it is aiming to start distribution before Christmas for the public.
US Pfizers which has 90% curing rate has signed an agreement with Malaysia. And Malaysia has ordered 12.8 million shots for its 20% of the population.
India's Gain.
In fighting the Global pandemic the Oxford University Astra Zeneca is the best vaccine for the developing condition as it can be stored in normal refrigerator temperature.
This vaccine is also produced at Serum Institute of India in Pune from where it is expected to dispatch to countries in Asia and Africa as a part of the global crises.
India has also promised Nepal for the vaccine. Assurances have been given by Harsha Shringla in a high-level meeting held between Nepal's Top leadership in Kathmandu.
