I was studying different reports regarding the recent conflict of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and in every report, I found that "drone alone won the war", which is true from one point of view. But let's cover the report from the losing side. Because losing teaches a lot more than winning, now let's drop into it.
#1 'Yes Man' Is A Dangerous Man
To understand let's peep into the war between India and Pakistan in 1971. At that time Ms. Ghandi asked Sam Manekshaw to go to War in East Pakistan, Manekshaw replay to her was
"Because of Mansoon airforce cannot support me and troops deployment will be obstructed and if I go into war then I guarantee you that hundred percent defeat we will face 'you now give me orders'".
These direct words to PM later won the war of 1971, Maneskshaw says
A 'Yes Man' is a dangerous man. He can become a minister, a secretary, or a field marshal but he can never become a leader nor ever be respected.
Maneskshaw took time to get ready with all types of strategy so he could finish the war within 13 days. He should be aware of your weakness first to implement your strength.
If Armenia had taken time to understand the situation first before declaring the full-on war then it would be better for Armenia. You should always give time to understand your position as well as other country's position before going into war. Hope this lesson Armenia learned during this war.
#2 Did Not Understand Diplomatic Language
Armenia was supported Diplomatically by Russia, that too was from first telling Armenia to a ceasefire. So it's indirectly telling Armenia not to keep hope in us and fight the war. This was the first mistake done by Armenia to think its allies would also jump into action.
Next, it failed to understand Diplomatic partners of Azerbaijan's such as Turkey, Israel. Arms support if you do not stop then you are clearly risking the entire economy. Because Armenia did not think about the Diplomat's you did not estimate their potential weapon and what Counter Measure you should work on.
To counter Turk's Drone and Israel Kamakazi, Armenia did not ask for counter measure platforms from any country.
#3. Keeping Too Much Hope On Its Friend Russia.
Since Armenia had signed a defense agreement with Russia, based on the agreement if any country wages war on Armenien soil then Russia jumps into war. But as Nagorno-Karabakh was not a recognized state of Armenia it did not fight the war, Russia stated.
Throughout the war Armenia was dependent on Russia, Thinking Russia may fight now, the next day, and so on. But did not completely had hope in its power of military and force.
#4. Complete Fail Of Armenia Intelligence.
Gathering Intelligence of the enemy is the first priority when waging a war. It's not only military power rather where to hit hard with your military power is important.
Yes, Modern warfare is won by Intelligence and not on the military power they own. Even 100 tank loss is ok but not the complete fail of Intelligence. Armenian Intelligence lacked the capability to understand from where the drones are flying, where they are stationed, and what tactics is enemy using to track our radar location. All these missed out points encircled Armenia to lose the complete war.
#5. Counter Measure For Drone And kamikaze Drone.
Drone signature is very small so radar's such as S300 failed completely to detect the drone. India recently introduced QRSAM which is specialized in finding and destroying Drone.
This Critical Drone destroyer was missing in Armenia when their tanks started to move toward Azerbaijan.
All these factors ended up losing 185 tanks, 45 armored fighting vehicles, 44 infantry fighting vehicles, 147 towed artillery guns, 19 self-propelled artillery, 72 multi-barrel rocket launchers, and 12 radars.
