US Report's china attacked Indian satellite communications to blind Indian Defence. No Communication then its an easy way to defeat an enemy.

On 16 Sep 2018 India and the US signed a military-intelligence sharing agreement.


So according to this agreement, India and the US will share any defence related intelligence. Whatever US satellite gathers information it will provide to India and India will be giving the US.


There will be no other authority interference to share intelligence with both countries.

Because of this US intelligence is now reporting that China had attacked Indian satellite.

 

What The US Has Reported.

 

Even though India is capable of counter-space capabilities like killing satellite using A-Sat. China want to blind Indian Satellite using its hacking technique. 

 

The Report is by Chief of Staff of the US Air Force, the US chief of Space Operations, and Senior air and Space leader.

China PLA Continue to get new technology in hacking sector to blind Indian defence. A detailed 142 page reports that china carried out many cyber attacks from 2012 to 2018. 

 

Types of attacks carryed out by China are:

• Space-based Jammers to ground stations, communication, earth observation and other satellites.
  
• Ground & Air Jammers to communication satellite and navigation, earth observation and electronic intel.
• Ground Laser to communication satellite, earth observation and electronic intel satellites.
• Co-orbital satellite attack to communication sats, earth observation and electronic intel satellites.
• Cyberattack to ground stations, Telemetry, Tracking and Command centres and system. 

 

ISRO Not Compromised.

 

A Senior Scientist said, " Cyber threats are a given but it cannot be ascertained who is behind such attacks. We've systems in place to alert us and I don't think we've ever been compromised." Also said, "The Chinese may have tried and failed".

ISRO chairman K Sivan denied any direct knowledge about the attack on the ground station.

ISRO also stated that the network of the satellite is isolated and kept separate from the public network.
Satellite is not also connected to the internet so its secure and safe.
